datzenmike
If swapping an auto into an auto it would be the same hole, however you are switching from auto to standard so no guarantees on the shifter. But because the 80 had both standards and autos they tended to roughly use the same hole in the floor. If you look, there is usually a long slot cut in the floor to accommodate either transmission and then a standard or automatic cover plate over the large hole to cover it. You may be able to use the '78 cover plate or maybe just unscrew the '80 plate and reposition it to fit. Yes it will bolt up and be at the correct angle because both motors are the same. Be sure that the automatic spacer plate is removed from the end of the crankshaft before trying to fit the standard flywheel. Standard... Automatic... The spacer plates must be pried off... I've been told that all Nissan motors have a pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft. Best to check Quote Link to comment
