datzenmike Posted November 5, 2011 Report Share Posted November 5, 2011 You might want to look for the FS5W71C from a D-21 Hardbody 4 cylinder. They are the shortest in length and likely the most common and unwanted (cheap) of them all. Both are FS5W71C transmissions. The bottom is from an S13 or S14 and is about 35" long. The top one is from a D-21and is much less. I haven't measured one myself yet but would ne 4-5" less. Your 510's stock 4 speed is 26.3" long with the shifter very near the back. If you want the shifter as close to the stock location as possible then consider the D-21 5 speed. We are a large forum and in N Am span a half dozen time zones. Expecting a reply over only 6 hours on a Friday night is.... interesting. :D So here's a free bump TTT. Link to comment
