Emptytank
I am doing a body off restro on my '68 1600, but not sure how rigid the body is off the frame. I plan on removing the doors during this and need to know if I should brace the body in the door openings. I don't want the body to 'fold' when I seperate it from the frame, that appears to be a weak spot with only the floorpan supporting it. Anybody here removed the body from a roadster and want to share their experiences with me.?....I'm all ears. Thanks Quote Link to comment
merlin
yup i would do this... I've folded a parts roadster ... take off the doors and make a bar bracket that allows you to bolt the top hinge bolts to the door catch bolts. I believe ross from sports imports actually welds such a bar in place. Quote Link to comment
rpowell25
There is a how to on 311.org in the PMWiki section. Look in the Restoration Tips section for Body Removal. Sorry cannot link it for some reason. Quote Link to comment
