620 a/c options

hey all. i have a 72 620 chop top, and i wanted to find a way to add a/c, but im not finding an add on kit anywhere. does anybody know of one? or has anyone tried a custom install. i have a 2001 frontier i thought maybe i could convert over , but im sure it would be a real job. thanks!

I do not know of any currently marketed kits for the 620 trucks.

 

But, there was at least three different styles of kits for the cab of the 620, usually sold as dealer add-ons. The two earlier model styles are a bit bulky and the vents come out under the dash, and the third style(later model) fits mostly behind the dash and the vents come out the two side dash vents and then vents are put in where the radio goes too. The radio gets moved to the center console.

 

If you can get the interior parts that fit the 620 nicely, the underhood parts like compressor, condensor, and hoses are fairly universal. And a good time to get modern R134a freon too.

 

These dash units do come up for sale here occasionally too. Usually in the $100 range IIRC.
