I have a complete L16 motor, a complete L18 motor(both running), and a L20b with a blown head gasket that came with an exta head. the one on it is the W58 and the other one is the U57? not sure about that one but I know it has a U in it. I am wondering if there are any head/block combinations I can make with what I have to increase horsepower. Thank you and please any info will help. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted August 19, 2011 Report Share Posted August 19, 2011 The L16 heads were too small and had small valves and ports. The L18 may have an A-87 head. The larger L20B will make the most power so run with it. The two heads you have are pretty much identical except for the exhaust port shape. The W-58s are round, the spare head Is a U-67 and it has square ports. Both perform the same. If the L20B with the blown gasket is complete with intake and exhaust manifold, fix the gasket and run it as it is. Quote Link to comment
