Datsun411SSS
Well my car is acting up... It has a ka24e sohc motor and I concluded my tps may be the problem .... I tried checking it but I'm getting weird readings.... At idle , its getting a little over 3 volts .. this is how I'm checking it... I ground the black probe and the red I backprobe it to the center wire... I believe its white... See the picture below ... I'm stumped on what to do next.... Anyone have any ideas ? Sinnful
read thru this page way good info http://www.240edge.com/manuals/89-90_240sx/d_adjust.pdf Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
.45 throttle closed. Think white signal wire. Use black as ground for meter. The power should be around 4 or 5 Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
we pulled the tps off the throttle body and manually spun the tps to the lowest voltage reading possible and the lowest it would read is 3.25. Quote Link to comment

Spades
just to let everyone know... it turned out to be a bad tps... For anyone that searches the threads for this in the future, that is one of the ways to test a TPS. You can also check the impedance of the sensor. If the voltage is off, you can start checking the wiring to the TPS and out of it, and also check the impedance of the sensor. If the sensor is working fine and your voltage is still off, that means that somewhere in the wiring or your ECU you have a voltage drop or increase...that is where the sensor OHM's can help diagnose what exactly is going on. Glad you got it fixed and back on the road! Quote Link to comment
