ggzilla
Hard to find. You might consider a Datsun 620 tach, look almost identical and in fact were used in the newer Japan 1200s. It's what I'm using and it is a total bolt in. Just run a wire to the coil negative post and use the stock dash lamp wiring same as 1200 tach. Link to comment
yello620
What is a 1200 tach worth? Curious, i have one that i have not tested yet. Link to comment
ggzilla
$75 to $100. The 1200 tach does not hook to the coil, it is induction triggered by the b/y wires in the dash harness. Link to comment

The wiring is the part i need to know, it was sold to me as a 620 tach, but it is a 1200 inductive pickup style. Would like to know if it works, as to not sell somebody a bad tach. Even wiring just to temporarily test it out would be nice. Link to comment
ggzilla
If it has this loop, it's a 1200 tachometer: Link to comment
ggzilla
face comparison, the font and colors are different: early 1200 late 1200 and 620 Link to comment
yello620
I have one of each of those two pictured. So the looped black/white wire going that goes from the ignition switch to the tach and then to the coil is keyed hot power right? Link to comment
