(805)10
I have a single-point distributor on a L16 powered 72' 510. Numbers on the distributor are: D412-18. The Pertronix 1741 kit will not line up w/ the holes in the breaker plate. Am I missing somthing? Anybody have the same problem? Left a message w/ Pertronix tech. but curious about your thaughts. banzai510(hainz)
you sure its a single point dist? Not a dual point with the 2nd set of points gone. It should fit a 68-69 l16 single point.I have done 3 of them. Just use the stock coil and ballast. simple hook up and last a long time. hook the red wire up to the = side of the ballast resisitor(where the blk wht wire is) get a piggyback jumper so no need to cut wires. the points will have 2 holes that hold it down and the pertronix plate should match that using the counter sunk type alum screws to hold it down(make sure to cut them if too long) to make sure the vac adv moves freely. 70 -72 L16s had dual point dizzys. unless you put a single in there. banzai510(hainz)
put the magnet ring from the Pertronix kit on the point lobe as the instruction say. If its a nice tight slip on then you should have the correct dizzy If magnet ring is loose on the point lobe you have a dual point dizzy.(this is what I notice about them) Quote Link to comment
