Glegor Posted March 5, 2011 Report Share Posted March 5, 2011 im looking for a 2wd 720 trans. i dont care if its out of a diesel or a gas powered truck, just need a 2wd trans with the long tail shaft housing.. i have a good 4x4 trans that came with my datsun, but a 4x4 trans doesnt fit in a 2x4 truck. anyone have a 2wd trans they wanna trade for a 4wd trans? or buy my 4x4 trans so i can get a 2wd unit? datzenmike Posted March 5, 2011 Report Share Posted March 5, 2011 The diesel tranny won't bolt up to the gas engine, starter is on the driver's side. There were also two different gas engines the L and the Z series. What one do you have??? There are two tranny lengths used on the 2wd and 4wd trucks... 31.5" and 26". Can I assume the 4x4 tranny is a short and that's why it won't fit the 2wd??? The 4X4 tranny also does not have a speedo drive in it. Link to comment
