littlejason
No, the combustion chamber is the same. Quote Link to comment
82sunny
oh ok, thanks. so should i just keep the 2tc in it instead of puting a 3tc in it? Quote Link to comment
littlejason
It's still worth it, 1800 vs 1600. I put a 3TC in my wagon. Quote Link to comment
82sunny
i dont want sound stupid, im just lazy but wheres the starter Quote Link to comment
flyerdan
It's on the driver side under the exhaust manifold. I'd scan a picture, but my brand new scanner doesn't seem to want to work at the moment. Quote Link to comment
82sunny
thats what i thought cause i jacked my car up and thought i saw it peeking out from under the exhaust. another question for anyone who may know. is there any websites that deal with performance parts for the 2tc? flyerdan
Probably that stamped louvered pan that surrounds the oil pan, if it's still there. It should have the reduction gear starter on it so you shouldn't have to drop the exhaust pipe from the manifold. There should be a heat shield on the starter, can't remember if it needs to come off first or not. Might give a bit more room if it was out of the way. Quote Link to comment
82sunny
do you know if im supposed to put a spacer in between the starter and where it mounts? Quote Link to comment
flyerdan
I don't remember any spacers, but it has been a while since I've had the Corolla. I'd just pay attention to how it came apart and put it back the same. Check out l=Pumpkin's Carina barn find thread, he has a lot of info and I believe that it has the same 2TC mill. littlejason
There shouldn't be any spacers, just make sure you get the correct starter. Quote Link to comment

Root
Ah the memories! I learned to drive in one exactly like that except it was white. Remember borrowing it for high school shenanigans, like driving it down the hallways at school at night. Oh, did I say that? None of that happened, really, just your imagination....
