Datsun 510 harness

hey gang,

i have just put a ka24de into my datsun and was just about to wire it up using the factory datsun harness and the 240sx engine harness. then i thought to myself why not get rid of the datsun engine harness and fuse block all together. i am not using any of the factory gauges or fuel pump, my head lights would be rewired also. i would just tap into the factory rear harness for the break lights and turn signals. i was planing on just using a fuse block with blade style fusses. does this seam like something that would work or am i stuck tapping into the factory fuse block? any help at all would be great.

thank you

use the stock harness (FOR LIGHTS ALL OTHER ELECTRICAL)!!!!!!! to turn on the new relays

use only the other 240 for the ECU stuff ect. Relays and fuse box that SEPARATELY.usually under the glove box. there you can use the blade fuse box and sqaureblk box relays.

otherwise this is alot harder than you think. NOBODY WANTS TO PIGGY BACK LATER TO TROUBLE SHOOT YOUR STUFF. BELIEVE ME NO BODY WILL HELP YOU.

LEAVE THE STOCK WIRES.

there are alot of project in the Dime quaretly section if you want to finnish one of those up first.

awesome thank you guys. my friend does a lot of wiring on cars and was trying to talk me into not using the factory datsun engine harness or glass fuse box at all. he was thinking of using the "how to" wiring diagram thats been floating around the site, but with a blade style fuse. and taping into the factory dash harness. can anyone post up a picture of their ka swap with the factory datsun fuse box? the person who had the car before me put an L20 into the car so the wiring for the lights and basically the whole engine side of the harness is a mess.
