Yeah...I've never heard of a cast iron stick flywheel breaking. It could happen on a

a 9000+ rpm race engine but can't imagine it occurring on a daily driver truck.

Unless he broke the starter ring gear real bad. That happens. I have 5 or 6 L16

flywheels avail for $30 and $40 each (cheaper = disc surface needs regrinding)

but shipping to Oregon would be pretty high.

my uncle has a 73 automatic 620 .....

Pretty much says it all. But it should be called a flex plate to avoid confusion. The '72 would have had the 'newer' Nissan 3N71B in it, same as the late 510 automatics. A 'flexplate' from a 610 or 710 auto up to around '74 should work as long as it is an L18 and not an L20B which has the six bolt mounting. Z cars used six bolt flexplates.

Are you sure you're not looking for a "flexplate"?

-The torque converter in an Automatic transmission bolts to a flexplate.

-The clutch/pressure plate in a manual transmission bolts to a flywheel.

Which one is it?

ok so its a 5 bolt flexplate
