1972 PL-620 Ignition

Need some help on ignition replacement As soon as possible.

The housing for the lock on the 1972 I am working on is gone. I need to replace the ignition temporarily with a US style ignition.

The Datsun has 5 terminals and the US has 4.

The Datsuns are B, IG, S, A, R

The US has terminals B, IG, A, S.

I am assuming they all function the same with the exception of R. I would like to know if my assumptions are correct and where I should attach the R wire.

Thanks,

Additionally, I have a rear lighting problem. Dont have power to the rear and unsure which leads/color control the tail lights, stop lights, turn signals, backup lights, etc at the firewall feed. I have the schematic but not very good in this arena.

Additionally, if I have to temporarily feed the back from an alternative power source, what do you recommend?

Comments would be helpful.

Again Thanks and great forum.

rockauto or inportedcarparts.com has the jap switches.

Thanks for the help.

I got the same thing locally from Napa. Costs a little more but quick.

Didn't know they had.

Also solved the wiring problem. Someone had jumped the turn signal wires together to create the tail lights and used the tail light circuit for turn signal.

Really had to dream/nightmare that one up.

Again, Thanks for the help.
