T3 camber plate follow up and new springs

Had the other thread going, but I thought I'd post a follow up. So far the T3 plates have been great. The only problem I had was after a day of running them, I took them up to the parents on the dirt roads and the center nut that goes through the spherical bearing loosened on me, and I could hear the struts moving up and down when the suspension cycled.

That was fixed with a little bit of loctite and gunning them down again. The whole assembly can't pass through the plate, so loosening those nuts with the car on the ground is okay. Just don't loosen them all the way because then it's a pain in the ass to fit them back in the bearing, as it's a tight fit.

Anyway, didn't think much about it until today when I went to take them off to put on my new springs. Ended up measuring some things and going from a 12" 150# spring to a 10" 175# spring by Hyperco, bought through Day Motorsports. So far the difference has been good. Haven't run it super hard or bottomed it out (jumped) yet.

Here was the problem. Lots of chewing of my adjustable spring collar as the springs bowed. Not good.

After I got the assembly off (which is remarkably easy after you do it a few times) I ran into a bit of a problem separating the nut from the spherical bearing. The surface was a bit gauled up, probably from the time when they were a bit loose before I re-tightened them and added the loctite. As a result, they didn't want to separate. Luckily I had a z car suspension bolt from the field car, so that was threaded on (12x1.25) and used as a tap to tap it out of the bearing.

Cleaned up the nut on the wire wheel and put a little anti-seize on it. Still was a bit tight, but once in, it's not a worry either. Used a small bit of loctite again to make sure it doesn't back off.

Here she is, had to raise the collar from previous as the 10" springs lowered the car quite a bit. It's now 5mm above the ring which is about the same ride height as before.

And here are the last pictures of what remained of the Z car before it went to the scrap heap. There's an entire dash in there too! Fit a lot, surprisingly, didn't even drop any parts on the road on the way to the scrap yard!
