620 Bed Question

Does the front of the bed unbolt and come out or does it have spotwelds? Mine has dents and rust and I was hoping to replace with another one, just need to know what all it will take to remove it. I tried the seach button, but not enough for a search :huh:

Datsun beds are held on with nuts and washers. The bolts have a 'washer' welded on under the head that turns when loosening or tightening and jams against the frame to keep it from turning. The problem is they are so damn thin that if the nut/bolt gets rusty and tight to remove, this 'washer' will just fold up and the bolt will spin. There's no easy way to get at the bolt to hold it from spinning. You might consider torching them off.

I'm talking about the very front of the bed, right behind the cab ;)

The very top ledge or rim will unbolt, you can see the body bolts, 3 I think on the cab side top front and two down each side inside the box. The bulkhead itself is spot welded in.
