4x4 conversion tie-rod end's

Recommended Posts

This may be a thread for the general technical, but here's where I ended up, if it's misplaced I apologize..

I have one of the dealer option converted '76 620 4X4's with the jeep front end and transfer case.. Wondering if any other 4X4 owner's have replaced their tie-rod ends or steering arm ends (from the steering knuckle to the right wheel, and back to the left wheel). Is it just the 'ends' for the jeep of the same years? Basically, I'm looking for part #'s to order since the 4X4 isn't factory, the auto part guys' behind the counter give me a 'deer in the headlight's look' and tell me that they don't list any 4X4 parts for that year 620.

Any info is helpful to make this thing a little tighter. Thanks, RustyRat

You'll want to order the tie-rod ends for a 76 CJ5. Most of the other parts from that year should crossover to your Dana 30 (If that is what is under there)

Does you truck have disc brakes? 76 was the first year for discs on the CJ's

Nope, no disc breaks on this one. Haven't confirmed the front axle ID yet whether it's a Dana 27 or 30. What are the differences to look for? The T-case is a 20 though, found a site to confirm that ID.
