Smiley720
On my '85 720 KC I cant get the drums to budge. They are like frozen on the brakes but they turn very freely. Is there a trick to getting these off. My arms are tired of pounding on them with my dead blow hammer. HELP!!! Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
careful not to crack the drums as I did. My old man had one of those weed burner torches. I heated the brake drums up then wacked them with a big hammer and thery broke loose. soem drums might have Jacking scew holes. Take advantage of them if possible.(not all drums have them) Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Generally they're stuck on the center hub, not the shoes. If they are stuck on the shoes you'd get some movement as the retainer springs catch, then you just back off the brakes. I usually have to soak the center hole with liquid wrench or PBlaster for a day or 2. Then beat the living $#!+ out of them with a BFH. Deadblow isn't gonna cut it. Yes, you run the risk of breaking the drum but I haven't yet. Quote Link to comment
