freekwonder
I've found an '82 manual 720 that a guy wants to get rid of. Is an 82 a good year? What are the details of the '82 models? It is a manual. Are they 4 or 5 speeds (my dumbass didn't look lol) and they came with the 2.2? Any big differences from the '83+ models? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The '82 is a Z22 NAPS motor but find the aluminum engine tag on the pass side inner fender below the hood hinge. Bottom two lines. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q251/datzenmike/720%20stuff/720Large2.jpg[/img]"] Z22(S)... 2187 = engine series, size 2.2 liter, carb (S) exact size 2,187cc FS5W71B... HF43 = 5spd, H-190 axle with 4.375 ratio (F4W71B= 4spd.) All 720 have this tag that lists only what was installed at the factory. Yeah they are a good motor and even better if converted for use with an L head. The tranny (if a 5spd) will have the 12 degree tilt to the drivers side so can't really be used with any L series motor without mods. Quote Link to comment
freekwonder
Cool I was looking for a plate but missed it. Thought all I found was the differences was the '82s had Z22 and a thinner walled bed. Any big mechanical differences? So where they available in 4SP and 5SP manuals? Quote Link to comment
