haubstr
What needs to be done to the trans crossmember for this? Flip it around? Redrill holes? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
I had to section out about 3" of the tranny mount. I also slotted the wholes to make sure they would line up :D Quote Link to comment
ADrummond
I did what Icehouse did - here's a couple photos of the finished mount. You can see where a chunk was cut out of the middle, and a plate welded in allowing the forward section to sit lower. Too low, as you can see by the washers stacked between the mount and transmission. Measure twice, cut once! Andrew Quote Link to comment
red wagon
thanks guys for the info. My brother was asking for me. my measurements are different than yours though. my measurements are 1 7/8" forward and 3/4" down. I don't know why my measurements are so far from yours? ADrummond
Those measurements are probably pretty close to mine - I don't think I cut 3" out, though I could measure it. You can see mine is over 3/4" lower, but remember that it's too low - there are 3 washers in there. I had to raise it because the u-joint was hitting the crossmember - when I took it off the jack stands and pushed it down the driveway... clunkclunkclunkclunkclunkclunk. Dammit! Be sure to slot the holes on the upper, u-shaped section front to rear - you won't have to be as precise lengthwise that way. Andrew Quote Link to comment
