This is my dad's truck so I don't think he will be racing. These are low compression pistons but he will be using a turbo setup that will put out around 5 PSI or so. Thanks
-
Nobody else posted it yet so I thought I would... http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/863174994.html Good time and it is getting bigger everytime...

This is on the Wolf Creek Racing site: 4 Cylinder Competition Head Gasket - NOS Nissan Motorsports 11044-A7651 ($79 list)..L-series..........................$60 That is the 88.5mm head gasket. Is 88.5 too big for the 86mm bore? Thanks
-
I was searching for the head gasket for an L20B that has been bored out 40 over. I set the stock head gasket on it and it is to small. Are people using head gaskets from the Z20 or Z22's? Thanks
-
How can you tell which one it came off of? The head was off of the motor when we got it.

Is is worth swapping cams from an L20B smog head to an open chamber non-ported A87... The engine is a low compression L20B bored 40 over built for a turbo that will be running about 5 PSI. Will be running a 32/36 Weber (maybe) as well. Have everything about done except for the cam. Any ideas? Thanks

Anybody still making them???

I myself am active Air Force 22 years and have yet to see someone lately (within the last 10 years) get back into active after getting out. With all of the cut backs and people getting kicked out for things that even five years ago would be just laughed at, I would find it almost impossible to come into the active duty world for Air Force. If that is the road you do take, then good luck.

My dad bored his L20B out 20 over and now needs new forged pistons to compensate for the turbo he is putting on(got the turbo, exhaust manifold, and down pipe for free). The turbo is off of a Corvair Spyder, so probably not much boost... What would be the size of pistons he needs for this? Is there a stock Turbo Z engine we could get the pistons from? Thanks

My backup lense on 1 side is broke... I need a non cracked one Thanks

I did a search and didn't find a good answer for my setup(s)... Right now it is an L20B with a 32/36 Weber but will be changing to my SU's which are the 38mm round top's... My question is how much PSI do you need to run it without a Fuel Pressure Regulator or a fuel return line? I thought I remember seeing somewhere it saying to run a 3-5 lb adjustable... Is this true? Thanks

That was my next question...Hainz My friend has an L20B Oil pump shaft and an L16 and they were the same except the L20B shaft had a brass gear on it... I assumed that with the L20B being taller it would have a longer Oil pump shaft... You know what assuming does!
-
Thanks for the help... If I can't find one around here then I'll get a hold of you Pacific... Thanks again

Is the oil pump shaft that goes between the distributor to the oil pump the same for an L20B and L28? We are missing the one for the L20B. Thanks

I'm running a 1/2" spacer with the same exact rims with 205/40/16... When I had the 4" lowering blocks on it, it was hitting the inside of the tire... I ended up taking out the 4" blocks, taking the leaf springs apart, flipping the main leaf over and putting them back together... I don't recommend this because of how rough the ride is, but I wanted mine low... I think I'm still going to add 1" blocks back in...

I got the truck with no paperwork. I making a Bill of Sale now. I'm having a hard time time finding the VIN on the frame. I know I was told "on the passenger side". Is it on top of the frame? Do I have to take out the radiator to find it? I have a lot of wire brushing to do... Thanks

I was going to finally register my 521 and looked at the ID in the door jam and compared it to the one under the hood... Low and behold they are different...This truck hasn't been registered in 19 years so it is out of the system. What can I do besides find someone parting one out and take the plates from that one? Can I register with only the one in the door jam and just take the one under the hood off? This sucks Jamie

I did a search to try and find the part number for this but didn't see it. I took it off of my brothers L20B block before it was hot tanked. It was real worn out from the chain hitting it. Do I really need it? Thanks

Just going to watch, not enter...

I thought I would share with everyone the Pic's I took of a local 521 I came across this weekend... As the story goes, the guy had one in high school and now owns his own heating/air conditioning business so he has the money... he basically has had everything done on the truck for him so I can only tell you minimal stuff about it... This is a frame off build (I've seen the Pic's for proof)... Here are some of the Pic's: Front view Notice the bedside extension Rear View KA24DE Interior (check out the A/C) Dakota Digital Guages Inside Bed I spent about an hour checking out this truck I could not find anything that wasn't chrome plated or painted... Every nut and bolt has been changed to stainless allen bolts... It has a 12 fuel cell under the back... Interior has a leather covered bench seat, electric windows, and a remote MP3 player attachment... The front end was changed to an '85 nissan 720 p/u... Since it is wider than the 521 he had custom wheels made for the offset so it would not stick out... He has the wiring diagram laminated and has all the original registrations and owners manual... He said he has about $40K into this truck... More Pic's at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21332897@N07/

I did a search on hear for a place online to buy some pistons and rings but didn't find anything. I know I saw it on hear. I don't want them to be way expensive. They will just be in a daily driver. Thanks

I did keep the section I cut out and I was thinking the same thing... I just don't know where I want to put it yet...
