  1. I changed out that drive shaft center bearing to was completely wiped out. It was a bit of a pain in the neck,..... but it went pretty well. I test drove it around and over a series of speed bumps, "much better". Also, what may be a bonus,..........it goes into gear much nicer. 2. The repair on the roof was done by an old guy at the body shop down the street from me. (see the first post) MM
  3. Before and after pictures,..... Not perfect by any means, but affordable and will keep the rain out. Then again the body shop found this while repairing two rusted through holes in the lower firewall,......... The passenger side is nearly as bad. The body shop wants $400.00 USD to repair the drivers side, and $300.00 USD to repair the passenger side. Comments are welcome. MM
  4. Hey Guys, I peeked under my truck and saw why it's so loud. There was "No Muffler",...... so I asked around and took it to a small place and they installed one. Quoted me $175.00 USD, in the end it was $195.00 USD. While it was on the rack I had a chance to see the underside for the first time. There is a drive line center support gizmo that is completely wiped out. So that has to be replaced sooner than later. This was a small collection of auto shops, the muffler shop, a smog shop, an upholstery shop, and a couple of body shops, etc. While I waited for the guy to weld up the muffler, I walked next door and talked to the old guy at the body shop about the rust that I wanted to have repaired. I had been saving up for the $700.00 USD I had been quoted by a guy who looked at it a month ago. The old guy looked at it,..... and I also pointed out two rusted through holes in the area behind the drivers side front tire. He quoted me $400.00 USD . I said what about the two rusted through holes behind the driver side tire? He said, "don't worry". I said, "how about $450.00 USD, does that sound fair?" He answered, "yes". So, I went to the bank and took him the money, dropped off the little truck, and walked back to my shop. My daughter is coming down from Colorado on Thursday for a memorial. Her auto shop teacher passed away. She graduated with two scholarships in auto. She really liked her auto shop teacher. I knew him as well, a really good guy, and very smart. The memorial is on the 14th, my birthday is close to the same time so she will be here for my birthday. Any advise on that center support?, without the drive line in place I could almost put my fist through it. Also I need to touch base with the member that has a stock air cleaner I need. I didn't have spare money at the time he offered it to me, but I have some now. The End MM
