Well maybe someone could tell me if the Royal Purple 75-90 is safe to use? The whole reason I started this thread was to find the right gear oil that wouldn't damage my transmission because ever since I did a gear oil change and I believe I used the wrong type of gear oil my transmission's been acting funny. So I want to do another one and I just want to make sure that I don't spend another $50+ on something that's not gonna be good for my transmission.

I'm more hoping for like Amazon links to fluids that you'd recommend. For example I found this on Amazon: https://a.co/d/bp5W1Hd Has anyone had any experience with this Ultra 1Plus brand? For the dexron power steering fluid, is it ok to use the dexron ATF? (Which I already use in my other vehicle)

I know that the gear oil has to be yellow metal safe GL four but I've been about to buy an oil and it also says meets GL five specifications which doesn't make sense to me. I need to know the right brand to buy. Like is the royal purple stuff going to work OK? Amsoil? MT90? etc…

Please let me know your recommendation on which brand/type of fluids that you use for your 720. I have especially been having a difficult time knowing which gear oil will work for my 1985 truck. Also advice on which fluids are OK to go synthetic with or which you recommend going conventional.

So I want to add some height to my 720. What are the biggest tires/rims I could put on it without having to alter the body and without having a lift kit? I do want to put a lift kit eventually but I just can’t afford it right now. I have seen some good deals on offer up etc... for used tires and rims. Forgive me if this is a dumb question but if the lug pattern is the same, is it possible to put bigger rims on it?

I think I jinxed myself…truck started making some bad noises while on a delivery for a client. I’m really really hoping 🤞🏻 it’s not a knock that I’m hearing. I should probably just fix it before it becomes an issue. I think I’m going to park it for a little bit while I save up to get the parts needed. How difficult is it to get into the transmission? I’m probably going to have to pull the motor right?

It grinds a bit when I’m in higher gears at too low of an rpm but other than that I haven’t noticed any whining noises. How soon do you guys think I’ll have to go in and replace This… ball bearing race?

It’s actually OER 😂 jk the lady I bought it from was just overly cautious. The parking brake (mostly) works just fine. 😅
