  1. Go check out air quality for Salem, Oregon. Off the charts at 525 https://www.airnow.gov/?city=Salem&state=OR&country=USA Chart says "Beyond Index"
  2. DatzenMike, I think we've got you beat today with the world's worst (most hazardous) air quality in Portland, OR. But not by much. Vancouver, BC is in an esteemed group though, beating out a heady group of polluters including LA, CAL Jakarta, Indonesia Dehli, India Lahore, Pakistan etc. https://www.iqair.com/
  3. Mike, I removed hand brake/parking brake cable and started spraying both ends with Tri-Flow teflon spray. After two days of working both ends and rolling up/unrolling cable it finally broke free and I can move it back and forth now. Will need to work it a bit more so it will function properly once reinstalled. Thx again for the great suggestions. DatGregSun
  4. Stoffregen Motorsports, Much appreciate the info on how to get a replacement universal brake cable if necessary. DatGregSun
  5. Mike, Yep, I agree on all counts. We pulled the brake cable yesterday and are doing exactly as you suggested, It's already starting to loosen up a bit and we hope to have it freed up within a few days. Yes, continuing to use it is KEY and will do so. Best DatGregSun
  6. Anyone have suggestions as to if/how to replace Intermediate Cable for 620? Nissan part # 36400-B8051 - Cable-Brake, but part no longer available. Curious is anyone has old catalog with "specs" on length, that way I might be able to find a "close" replacement, possibly from other Datsun models. Mine no longer works and am guessing due to its age and rust, it likely frayed apart as the connection on both ends still appears fine. Thx. DatGregSun
  7. Mike,

Do you ever host local visitors that have questions or would appreciate someone else looking at their rig to see/gain your perspective as next steps in updating/changing/selling?

I live local and am curious about having another set of eyes take a look at my 620.

With Covid-19, if that's an issue currently, I get it, but am asking in general.

    Thx.

  8. Mike, Moving on to "the better idea of converting to disc brakes up front", in your experience which disc brake kit for a '77 620 is the best/easiest to install/cheapest/everyone going with/etc? What price point should I expect to pay for a complete front brakes conversion from drums to discs? Everywhere I read says the drums are too soft and junk since they need constant adjusting. Yes/no? Thx. DatGregSun
  9. Resend. Forgot to request reply notification. So which disc brake kit for a '77 620 is the best/easiest to install/cheapest/everyone going with/etc? What price point should I expect to pay for a complete front brakes conversion from drums to discs? Thx. DatGregSun

  11. DatsunMike, Amazing. Great idea and creative. Now I guess I'm off to the conveyor belt store...............where's that? Since you're so good at all this, can drum brake adjusters be "rebuilt"? Better than trying to find replacements? Thx again. DatGregSun
