  1. Hm, D21 pickup is leaf sprung indeed but I am pretty convinced that WD21 pathy is coil sprung?
  2. WD21 Pathfinder rear axle? I think they have discs. Coil sprung so it will need some fabrication but it was the first thing that came to mind.
  3. Yeah, of course that's one thing to consider, on the other hand, when running a diesel in this climate you rarely get cooling problems anyway.... 😄 One could of course always drill some holes in the middle part of the bumper and get some airflow that way. Three auxillary lights in front of the grille is almost standard equipment on vehicles here where there is almost six months of darkness in a year 😛
  4. A possible design for the front bumper. Turn signals/parking lamps are probably going to be swapped out for BMW E39 (5-series mid 90s-early 00s) side indicators since they are available with both white and amber lenses and have quite a neat format. Amber parking lamps are not allowed in Sweden.
  5. I don't care much about OEM, most of the vehicle is going to be custom built anyway, lol. Thanks!
  6. Are new vinyl flooring available? I would like to change my worn out textile carpet in my King Cab for rubber or vinyl since it's much more practical in an offroad vehicle....
  7. Fenders still in need of some rust repair before painting but at least most of the truck is painted now.....

    Seats

If you are very short, 88-92 Mazda 626 seats are easy to install but will sit way too high. Swapped my Mazda seats for a pair from a 1998 Escort, they were not too hard to install and works great, but since I live in Sweden it's the euro model and probably not an alternative for you, our Escort was built on a Ford platform and I think the US Escort was based on a Mazda platform... ?

    Muffler size

2" should be enough for all engines you could get in the 720 standard IMO.
  10. Got the cans of paint today so I stole a picture of someone elses truck because I am lazy, and started doodling... ? Swedish M90 camo in the planning, and the colours are a fair bit off, I know puke green aren't a very good camo colour... ?
  11. Both Escort seats in place, and I can only say that I am satisfied. Much better driving position than with the Mazda seats, and more space under the steering wheel for the legs.
  12. First of all, excuse me for all the pictures that is dead.... :( Swapped in the first Ford Escort seat today, started with the passenger side if it would cause any problems, now I know what to do on the drivers side… I guess that this will work well, it is about the same height as the drivers seat (Mazda 626) now, but the Mazda seat is adjusted all the way to the bottom, the passenger seat from the Ford is not adjustable and is about as high as the drivers seat are in the highest position, so probably I will gain some centimeters if I crank the Ford drivers seat all the way down…
  13. 720s are rare here. But some people tells me that I drive one just because I can't afford anything better, which is rubbish, because if I had given the same amount of money for a Volvo 740, I would have gotten a much better example, and it would have been a much cheaper car to run too. Other people says that I drive one to compensate for something, which I think is rubbish too, I drive it because I like it, and if the idea behind my car ownership was to get other people to admire me, I would have gotten a circa 3 year old Audi A4 instead, because that's what everyone is supposed to want and about as expensive it can get before people hate you because they are jealous. Sure, I could lower it and put it on street thread tyres but why? On really bad roads or offroad it is better this way....
  14. Well, since this one already had H4 headlights, nothing has changed in that way.... It was almost impossible back then to get the truck registered in Sweden with sealed beams, the safety inspection really didn't like them, sure they have become more forgiving nowadays, but it probably have had halogens at least since it was imported to Sweden, I don't know if they were sold with halogens or sealed beams in Germany though.... But the previous owner made a mess out of the headlamp wiring when trying to "fix" some problems that was caused by some short circuit in a bulb.... So I had no high beams at all... It worked for a while when I installed new wiring that was connected like the original, but I have some problems again....probably my own fault...was too much in a hurry to make it pass the safety inspection....So, I have to take a look at it again.
  15. I think that it is more like bad grounding somewhere..... But the electrics on a 720, especially the headlight wiring, are only good at one thing, driving you mad.......
