O.K. it was a busy weekend in the garage and got alot done but nothin quite finished. I did get a ton of candy as I took a couple hours off and went trick or treating with the kiddies.
Ultra smooth pumkin
Rising Sun
Lower bar tabs installed
Damn it...I forgot about that pic. But the video worked. I will have this shit done by Sunday!!!! Thanx Madness for the motivation, here is some for you.
So we got 20 somethin inches of snow, I'm sitting in the garage and no motivation to work on this 4-link. Come on brothers and give me some motivation, I want to be somewhat done by Sunday. Denveratsun needs to call me.
My tranny crossmember sits below the frame. I haven't gotten under the truck to see if its welded in or a bolt on crossmemeber. Does anyone know before I get dirty?
Here's the beginning of the 4-link build.
Bar's and the old crossmember. Bar's are cut long so I can trim them when I get the heim joints
the bars will be mounted on the bottom
O.K. So it was a beautiful weekend in Colorado and I got a little work done. Saturday my stepson was in the garage all day and I taught him how to use the grinder (he's 10). We got the frame smoothed out the rest of the way including putting in fill plates at the rear of the frame in the open space. Sunday my buddy came through with some steel and I pondered for a while and decided to start building the reverse 4-link. I got the parallel bars build and mount tabs ready to be tacked on. In the pics the bars are sitting on top of the frame but they will hang from the bottom. Next weekend is supposed to be another nice one so hopefully the steel fairy can make a run through my garage again.
Ugly C channel filled in
No more nasty crossmember
Lot's of room for bag toys!!!!
Weather is gonna be beautiful this weekend, so if anybody wants to come to Frederick and play with trucks I will have the welder burning and the compressor sucking!!!!!
Sorry, I have now updates. The snow and cold kept me inside last weekend, but I got some much needed tools and ideas to have lots of fun this weekend!!
I'm new here but I love to share. My girl and I have an '85 720 Kc. I do the shaving and she does the bondo, it couldn't be a better deal. Last weekend Istarted smoothing the rear frame getting it ready for the 4link. I will keep updating as the rear suspension continues...
