There's gotta be some video of that somewhere?!? Like you said Look's pissed! Me likey.

The stuff you are working with looks real easy, is it just bondo? I haven't done any body work before but I have an old beater scout I'm going to try a patch panel on. It had a horribly messy spot done up with bondo or something like that and it's just splitting and nasty.

I don't subscribe to magazines because I have the same problem but I thumb through real quick every once in awhile and buy seperate ones that catch my eye. Same with 4x4 mags etc.

I looked at my carb some, i'm suddenly getting a bog when I floor it and a jerk if I try to cruise around slow corners in town. I found that one of the rubber plugs for the vaccum line was rotten. Replacing it help, some. Also my friend found that an old bracket on my hard fuel lines has JUST about cut through into my top radiator hose. Gonna wrap some electrical tape on it for now til I can take it off and grind or cut that off. That whole line could stand being replace with steel and insulated but that'll have to wait.

Hey we didn't say anything about this being the first issue we've ever seen or anything! :D
I was reading a couple back when they were talking about their first days and typing them up and whatnot, that was a cool read too. And yeah if you can post parts of the old ones that'd be cool!
-
So do it!

The latest grassroot has a lot of datsun stuff this time around including Pete Brock and BRE, plus 3 vintage Zs.
An no I don't work for them or anything. :D
-
Yeah the covers look great, I was looking at the pic trying to figure out what was so different/cool about the front! I hope it goes fast, with stripes like that it better!
-
When's the paint! :D
-
Cool, yeah they are pretty hideous already I wouldn't think I could make them much worse. :D
-
I like the wheels! I'm thinking of doing the same thing to mine whatever they are. Did you tape it all off or paint it all black then sand down like a valve cover?
-
Haha no problem man. The reason I posted this was because I was talking to a couple guys that used to do race cars and drag race pretty heavily (all gm and chevy though) and most of them talked like duals on a daily driver would be more trouble than it would be worth even if it was "for fun".
-
Just read this whole thread, very cool. You work a lot faster than I do that's for sure! Can't wait to see the paint that previous pic of the pearl Z is sexy indeed. I'd have loved to do something fun to the 260z i bought but it was just too far gone.
Good luck! :D

Currently I have a single weber 32/36. I've never run duals on anything so I was thinking it would be fun to run them on the l20b. I've tuned a few carbs, swapped jets, that sort of thing.
Have any of you that run duals driven a similar dime with just a single enough to compare? Is there quite a bit of seat of the pants dyno difference? Is synchronizing them loads of "fun?"
I guess overall I'm just looking for people who have had both and if it was worth it. This car is currently my daily driver and hoping to get back into some low key autocross someday.

I have a 32/36 with manual choke and no solenoid and mine was doing it when i first got it. I have it timed much better now and with my idle at about 700-800 it doesn't diesel when I turn it off. It DOES however shake like crazy. :D

Man I looked at mine yesterday. The po put in some honda seats of some kind which are comfy and look pretty good but they are NOT mounted very well. I gotta get them out and redone cause I'm guessing a good roll would probably disconnect them!

Wow those rims really change the look of that wagon! NIce.

My speakers were grounding out on the body in back. I didn't want to cut back there so I insulated the holes instead....with duct tape.
Worked on the wipers some more. Managed to get the existing wiring out of the coupler without breaking it. Replacement motor is good (mazda or something) but none of the wiring to power it works. blahhhhhhhhhhhh

My new to me 73. It's already got plenty of rivets in the rear flares already so I've been thinking about the street fighter theme fisch drew up. It's not low enough (at all) or fast enough to do it justice though.

Pretty sure I'm going to get fired for looking at all your art and such for the past couple HOURS. That would look awesome on tin with raised lettering and such.
-
Great pics, the motion shots are awesome, real nice car (obviously) :D
-
Looks good! That's a seriously louvered hood! Also thanks for all the info on your paint setup too. I've always wanted to try it for fun on a beater like my dime or one of my scouts. Something a little more high tech/better looking than spray paint.
-
Is your paint in there just rattle canned cause it looks good. My interior is bamboo tan. One of the POs started painting some things a sort of dark silver which I'd like to continue but I doubt I'll find paint that looks just like that so I'll probalby have to start over.

Opened the valve cover to check the head bolt torque after running the new head gasket for a few days. All good so far. Noticed the timing chain is pretty slack. Messed with the wiper motor and head lights again.

Looks like a real clean dime! What happend, bent valves? Broken camshaft? I'll bet you can't break yours in more pieces than mine! (three) :D
