  1. Heya all I picked up a few spare wiper motors awhile back from the realm so now I have a good motor. Unfortunately there is no juice to the wiring where it plugs in. I have a wiring diagram and I don't see any relays to check but I also suck with wiring diagrams. :D Can the switch itself go bad? I thought I'd post up to ask for thoughts before I started tearing things apart. Using some wires straight from the battery I got the motor parked and my wipers installed correctly so far.

  2. Welded up my exhaust. The PO installed it all without any rubber hangers so a couple broke loose. Well I still didn't have any of the rubber but I think what we did will last. We also put a dimple in it to go around one of the seat belt bolts so it doesn't rub. NOthing says jalopy like a bunch of vibrating and clanging and slamming around. I had even turned up my idle just a hair so it wouldn't. :P

  3. Congrats Joel! So uh what did you do to it TODAY? :D

Yesterday I installed my choke cable! OH man I haven't had a vehicle since my beetle in high school 16 years ago. Obviously I already knew it was important but I had forgotten how much easier it make your morning start up! Slipped on my shoes ran outside pulled the choke about 3/4, gave it a half a pump and fired it right up (50 degrees this morning). Went back inside for few, came out to a warm car and drove to work!

Played with the headlights for a few minutes and actually considered just wiring all four of them hot and decided not too :D. I'm gonna order the suggested relay from DQ and try it out. The harness has been spliced at the relay and at the headlights but as far as I can tell I've got it all wired back to original.

  4. Well that part is supposedly less than 10 bucks and the housing on my is all chewed from people being in there so I probably need to replace it anyway. I was told by one of the guys here to clean the one in the column and then followed the dime quartely article I picked up to work on the relay. After doing both of those when I flip switch on the column my lights turn OFF. :D Previously it did nothing. Most of the headlight wiring was cut apart. I respliced them all and tried to make it look better at least for now.

  5. That's good to hear! Assuming my feeler gauge makes it I'll be doing that this weekend too!

Spent most of last night dialing in a good idle and snap to my carb. I also adjusted the headlights so I can finally see. Took my wiper motor off again and decided I STILL ain't excited enough to work on that.
