Hey guys, new here and trying not to tick people off with subjects that have been beaten to death, but ya gotta start somewhere right? Anyway, my search for a 510 still continues (I've even broadened my search to include a 620), but east coast living is pretty sad for datsuns. I was lucky enough to pick up a 510 trunk lid last week and since I don't have a 510 as of yet, I was just planning on painting a rising sun on it and using it as wall art for the time being. Since I know you guys love pics, here's said trunk lid in current condition..... You guys have any advice for the painting of the rising sun? I'm planning on having it coming out of the bottom left corner like this..... Just wondering what I should do about the rust spots though? Grind/sand it down to bare metal, paint the rising sun, then clear over everything? I'm not looking for some high class finish or anything, wanna keep it in true RATSUN fashion!

Seems like it! I don't mind a little paint fade/surface rust but I don't wanna deal with tha CANCER!!! Haha

Need some advice from you guys! Still looking for a 510 but not much on my coast.....I have however found a decent looking 620. I have zero experience with older carb cars/trucks so I'm wondering if you guys think it would be a good idea to pick up the 620 to get familiar with, then continue to look for a 510?
