  1. That's a sharp truck!
  2. Moar lower since my page 2 post. Cranked the bars lower in the front and removed the middle leaf in the pack in the rear.
  3. Thanks man. It's got a little rust in the bed and a bunch in the cab floor, but overall it's pretty solid. Truthfully this is just a temporary thing. I'm either going to get some leaf packs off a 4wd, OR get an explorer 8.8 rearend and 4 link it. Probably number 2. I would really like to 5lug swap it and put the Chevy LT1 in my garage in it. Just waiting on time to do it.
  4. Lastly, shortly after lowering it more, the speedo quit working. Fix for that upcoming. It also needs brakes. I'll post pics of that too.
  5. So, I was having some weird headlight issues and contacted Wayno. Here is our convo. The moral of the story is check the easy stuff first. Like the switches.Duh.
  6. Alright, alright, so I'm back. Done a little of this and a little of that, been halfway around the world and back. It's summer time again. Life is good. So, since I promised moar lower, Here it is before. 3" block in back, torsion bars in front, 225/60R16 tires on 99-03 silverado wheels. Here, Middle leaf removed, bars cranked down in front, 205/55R16 tires And just to prove it's a daily...

You don't have to worry about visual inspection, but you will need to tinker with the carb to get it to pass tailpipe. I had to create a little vacuum leak to get it to pass. Basically leaned it out to lean misfire. I saw CO go to 0 and HC go up. If I was in the states, I'd come over and help, but alas, I'm in Afghanistan. Good luck.
  8. Other than the hole that protrudes into the fire ring part of the head gasket, I really don't see a problem with this head. If you want it cleaner, try a little caustic soda or purple power.
  9. There also should be a small screen filter in the banjo fitting on the carb that feeds fuel. I had a hell of a time getting mine to seal without one in there.
  10. Don't forget to get a piece of garden hose to wedge down into the timing chain so the tensioner doesn't fall out. If you need ideas, check this thread out: http://community.ratsun.net/topic/48285-carbretarder-or-ignition-problems/page-2
  11. I'd check voltage on the battery first. If that checks out I'd start checking fusible links directly off the positive battery cable. Sounds like one of them might have burned up. There was a thread with pictures of said links in the not too distant past. Do a little searching for pictures and you'll turn them up.
  12. Very very nice. Well done sir.
