Kennyt
Any benefits to porting and polishing this style head? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Not really. The design is flawed to begin with. By 'flawed' I mean it works perfectly at speeds up to 4-5K then the head runs out of breath. I noticed when I did mine that the when the valve seat is cut into the port by the factory, there is a lot of burring and casting flask left. A lot, very rough. You can trim this away and round it some more. On the plus side the head has an efficient hemi combustion chamber, dual plugs for two flame fronts and shorter burn time so less ignition advance. Cross flow design, so the hot exhaust ports don't heat up the intake ports and there is more room for a turbo. 1 Quote Link to comment
