sanitys
Slow blinkers, no temp gauge, no fuel gauge. Common link is poor ground. Next is the voltage regulator behind the printed circuit board in the gauge cluster. Rectangular box with tab that bolts to the PC board. Clean the tab and tighter the mounting screw before doing anything heroic. Like mike said, check the grounds via the wiring diagram, and check the voltage regulator, pull the guage cluster out and look on the back for the voltage regulator. sorry I cant give a more precise answer not familar with the 521's Quote Link to comment

ppeters914
I happen to have my gauge cluster out. Although it's for a 411, they're near identical to the 520/521 (same gauge part numbers), just mounted in the dash differently. I'll post some pics to help ya, though it may not be until Saturday. datsunfish
The voltage regulator is grounded through its case. I found that the case can loose continuity from its connection points. If you remove it,bend the tabs back and remove the inners you can clean all contact points and reassemble. That worked on mine. Also the old haynes 510/pl521 manual has the 72.5/73 620 electrical schematic listed as the 521. The only book I have with the actual 521 diagram is the old chilton for datsun pickups 70-75.
