That link is good for specifics, but not very good for a description of options.

 

 

Option 1: Buy a single-point distributor, swap it in, convert to Pertronix. Cost $70 + cost of the distributor.

 

Option 2: Buy a matchbox distributor, swap it in. It can use the stock coil you already have. Cost $30 from pick-n-pull. From 1979 Datsun 620, 1980 Datsun 720, 1979 Datsun 510 or 1979 Datsun 200SX (any with L20B engine). Be sure to get the matching pedestal, which does not come with a new distributor. And is different from the L16 pedestal. Good for DIY person.

 

Option 3: Install MegaJolt/E, it's a distributorless system with multi-coil pack. Cost about $300. Good for tinkerer/racer/tuner as it enables easy Spark Recurving for maximum power gains.
