Byeranger
Hey guys, i own a '77 F10 coach with the a10 engine. I'd like to put an a12 in it, maybe even a14/a15. But because its FWD and the tranny is underneath the engine the sump is different from regular rwd A engines. I was wondering if anyone could confirm that my A10 oil pan fits a12 engines (or a14/a15)? Do the bolts meet up? Greetings from the Netherlands. Quote Link to comment
izzo
I would think so. But can't confirm. A series is... A series. I had a FWD A14 can be used in rwd A series cars but using the different oil pan and motor mounts... Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
A12 fwd can use the oil pan from A12 rwd We've never seen an A10 engine here in USA. Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
By the way ... I've always wondered: does the A10 engine from 1977 have the distributor under #1 spark plug or under #3 spark plug? Quote Link to comment
Byeranger
#1 ! The a12 distri is under 3 right? My engine: 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Early A12 is under #1. Redesigned A12 from 1974 is under #3 so the alternator could be put on right side. Quote Link to comment
