Mads510
I was looking for a new windshield gasket and some of the side rubbers for my goon but I hear that the ones on ebay are cheap and don't last long! I was wondering is adding silicone to repair the cracks would work not sure if any body has tried it or has any suggestions to repair and keep the OG seals! Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Your existing gaskets are likely EPDM. RTV would be a better chemical bond than silicone. First clean the existing cracks with white vinegar to prime the surface using an old soft toothbrush to scrub the crack as best you can. Clean the glass with white vinegar also, best glass cleaner made. Work black RTV into the cracks and smooth with the classic wet finger or a plastic card like the fake come-on credit cards that clog the US Mail. The RTV will cure to the rubber and also seal to the vinegar cleaned glass. Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Keep in mind that if you do do that, and then later on down the road you get a real seal, you will want to kill yourself having to remove RTV from your paint. I just did it cause the previous owner did the RTV thing. Quote Link to comment
