datsunmark
Hey so I've got a bit of a problem with the A14 engine in my 1978 Datsun B210. Starts beautifully and idles fine and drives good as long as you don't go faster than 60kmh or 70kmh. If you try to go highway speeds it'll run good at 100kmh for about 30s and then starts running super rough and cannot idle at mid range rpms. It idles super bad and sputters unless you push the accelerator all the way down and run at higher revs. If you manage to get up to highway speeds again it will run nicely as long as the rpm is high. I pulled the carb and cleaned it, checked all vacuum lines, ignition system, neither we're the problem. I'm inexperienced with engines so any help with my current dilemna that would be much appreciated. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Change the fuel filter. When warm take the top off the air filter and see if the choke plate is closed or part closed. It must be full open. Quote Link to comment
datsunmark
Yeah the choke plate is full open. I thought it may have been the choke as well but it didn't check out. I'll see if I can pick up a fuel filter today Quote Link to comment
