Put parts in dual points distributor or replace

Hi everyone, first time poster but I've been lurking and found lots of good info so far on Ratsun.

 

I've noticed some rough acceleration symptoms that seem like they would be ignition related. The truck is a 1970 numbers matching bone stock 521. I've read time and time again on here to convert to a matchbox or similar EI setup which makes sense but I don't drive much and really would like to preserve it's originality and simplicity. Is it wasted money to put points, condenser, cap, rotor... in to a dual point dizzy?
