sergent
So my key was stuck in the ignition, I removed the whole little lock deal from the column then went to get the actual tumbler out. Tell me if this was right. Usually on other cars i have worked on you turn the key to a position where you can push a little pin, then remove the tumbler with the key. That did not work on my 82 720. maybe because the key would not turn to the start position. Anyways i drilled the small pin down about 1/8 and was able to remove the cylinder. My question is if I buy a new lock cylinder , do they include a new pin? Are datsun pins even spring loaded? I never saw one when I took it apart. Quote Link to comment
D52E
When I did mine the pin did not come with the lock cylinder. I just used a piece of steel that was the correct diameter to lock it into place. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/47412-how-to-dissasemble-datsun-510-ignition-switch-and-rekey/ Quote Link to comment
