datzenmike Posted October 21, 2012 Report Share Posted October 21, 2012 You want an FS5W71B from any Z series motor. That would be any '81-'86 720 or '80-'83 200sx. Measure the length of yours, as there were two lengths used in the trucks... 31.5" and 26". Make sure you ask which length they have, from any seller. You have a 4x4 5 speed and it does not have a speedometer drive in the tail as the transfer case has this in your truck. You can use a 2wd transmission and just leave the speedo pinion alone. Beware, the 720 also had a diesel option and the diesel 5 speed will not fit. If someone says they have a transmission ask them which side the starter is on. Diesel is on the driver's side..... gas motors are on the pass side. Link to comment
