I have an orange needle 4 wire tach. I'm not sure about its function so I

can't vouch for that. I had one modernized by Randy York for less than $100

and it works great. I also have a local guy that modifies the 4 wire tach

with a modern circuit board with 3 wires for $60. I think that Randy modifies the

tach with a modern circuit board too.

Based on what I have in mine, and the possible cost to modernize this one, I think $100 is a fair price.

The back shows the original 2 white wires both with female bullet connectors, and original female and male spade

connectors.

Wiring for this is easy: Black goes to ground. Green goes to a switched

positive (+) power source that only has power in the start and run

positions. One white wire connects to the negative (-) side of the coil, and

the other connects to the wire that was connected to the negative (-) side

of the coil. (The white wires are hooked up so the tach is in series with

the negative side of the coil.) An illumination harness can be made from a

stock turn signal indicator harness, the bulb holders fit the tach, and the

correct plug is on that harness for it to plug into your under-dash wiring

harness.
