He isn't cheap, but no guessing about if it will work or not, looks great, and your wife would appreciate, it I'm sure. With all of the chasing around, piecing together, your time trying to get all of the parts, booster may still need to be rebuilt or only good for a core, and polishing the parts, his deal doesn't sound so bad. In fact, I have the set up, it's not all new and fancy, but I would sell it to you at the right price. I would then make up the diference, and buy his.
