datzenmike
Are you saying that your tach doesn't work properly? Or motor not revving properly? A little more information and I wouldn't have to guess what you mean. A doctor needs symptoms to make a diagnosis. Quote Link to comment
rad510
ok at first when i got the car running for like a week or so ... i start to drive it one the highway cuz my work place is like 20 min from my house ok so i was driving on the highway about like 15 min and my foot was still on the gas peddle and then i look at my rpm it start going up and i was like wat .. so ya so the next couple week my rpm start bouncing and then it dies Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
So the motor revs up while driving? The points are getting bad or coil wire is loose. A bad (loose) connection will give the tach multiple signals and it can act erratic. When the tach on my Dart did this it was time to replace the points. Quote Link to comment

rad510
wat u mean relpace the point Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well in my case the points were getting worn and making bad contact. The tach gets it's signal from the points opening and closing so if the signal is bad it will read erratically. You might also have a loose wire to the coil also. Just check that all wires are tight.
