buster69 Posted August 23, 2012 Report Share Posted August 23, 2012 when I turn my key too far, the car will start but the starter will get stuck in place and make some grinding noise. I just have to back off the key a little bit, and then the noise stops. Is this a bad key ignition module switch thing? Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat Posted August 23, 2012 Report Share Posted August 23, 2012 My guess is that the keyed part of the mechanism is wore out and allowing the electronic part to turn too far. I have had a few wear out on me where the little tab from the keyed portion gets loose and turns the electronic portion too far or not enough. maybe the spring is just wore out. Take it apart and see if some parts have excessive wear. Quote Link to comment
