mralerico
was wondering if anyone new the drivetrain length on the 5 speed and 4 speed 73 620's? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
There were only 4 speed '73s. In fact the 5 speed wasn't an option until the '77 model year. If you are looking at putting a later 620 5 speed into your '73 just get a '74 and up front driveshaft half. That's the one with the center carrier bearing on it. While you're at it get the rear cross member that supports the transmission and the 5 speed should bolt right in. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
You should be able to use a '74 and up front driveshaft with the Z series 720 tranny. Only drawback is the KA tranny is stronger. Quote Link to comment
