Datman74
Hi Guys, Overhauling the brake cylinders on the 411 and wondering if anyone knows what size the flare nuts are on the steel lines that run into the back of the cylinders. I have already rounded one of them and just found out that I need a flare nut wrench to get them out. I have sprayed them with penetrex and tapped them, even tried a little heat but they don't seem to want to go anywhere. Anyone had similar troubles or by chance know what size flare nut wrench I need to get so that I don't have to scrap the rest of them? I guess the alternative is to replace the cylinders (aftermarket availability?) Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Should be either 10mm or 7/16" (only one will fit). 410 used a mix of metric & imperial, but I think the 411 is mostly metric? Anyways I have a 12mm x 10mm Flare Wrench And a 7/16 x 1/2 Flare Wrench You can use Vice-Grips to remove a rounded flare nut. The Flare Nut Wrench won't fix if it is partly rounded.
