I believe the light relates to It's a sensor around or in the catalytic converter... Let me check the book... Here is the link http://www.google.com/search?q=floor+temp+light+ratsun&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari Aka it doesn't matter unplug it or tape over if you care.. Or go saw out the cat and put a piece of pipe in it's spot. See if the metal cover is still on it too if it's loose it will light up Quote Link to comment

Well mine did anyways. All I remember is don't park on oily rags or dry grass ha Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Floor Temperature light was a California only thing. If you still have the original hood with an intact emissions sticker it would say California emissions. The purpose was to tell you when the catalytic converter got too hot (usually when they collapse) but the sensor probably went bad and "locked" in. They called it a "Floor Temperature" because it didn't actually measure the cat temp, but the floor temperature. Quote Link to comment
Kisor
Mine has it but I don't think it works anymore. If the engine was missing or running poorly it could cause the cat to get hot enough to damage the carpet. Quote Link to comment
