datsunaholic Posted April 18, 2008 Report Share Posted April 18, 2008 Will it fit? Depends on the dogleg. Assuming a normal, 200SX or 510 one... Yes- if it's a '72-73 620 Mods? '72-73, modified crossmember and different speedo cable (pinion is on the other side) If it's a '74-79, need a modded crossmember and a lengthened driveshaft. Is it a good choice for a truck? No. They're notoriously weak. I have one in my '74 (a prior owner swapped the whole 200SX engine/tranny combo in). One of my doglegs has always had problems jumping out of gear. For a '74-79 620 a '77-80 truck 5-speed, or a '77-83 280Z/ZX tranny is a bolt-in swap (no mods other than re-gearing the speedo cog of the Z/ZX ones). Note that some folks have found short transmissions in '74 620s so it does matter what you have now. Quote Link to comment
