I realize that I will need to shorten the drive shaft, but I understand the tranny is stronger than a dogleg, and I don't know if I want the odd shift pattern anyways. I currently have an L18. I am hoping to find something locally if possible - I know there are quite a few guys in the portland, OR area. Will be redoing my floor pans and want to cut the hole for the shifter once... Any FS5W71B tranny from a '77-'78 280z and '79-'83 280zx non turbo OR '77-'79 620 and '80 2wd 720 truck, OR '78-'84 810/Maxima will bolt on to the L16 motor. Looking to spend a couple hundred, but may go up to $300 depending on condition. Thanks, Luke Link to comment
