JohnVander
I was just wondering if there where any advantages to to going with B210 struts over a 1200 assembly, my setup is pretty shot and I'm looking at different options. Thanks John Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Pros: * Larger brakes (245 mm versus 212.5 mm) * Larger selection of strut insert cartridges (front shock absorbers) Cons: * Heavier * Spring heights are different * Same size brake calipers They are not a bolt-in replacement, but a strut swap. You'll need to do all the modifications of a swap: 1) cut and lower the spring perch 2) Use the B110 top hats 3) Change the ball joints 4) Change the tie-rod ends 1200 strut can fit larger brakes than B210. See bolt-on Brake Upgrade 1200 strut can be rebuilt (add new oil and new strut glands, such as the Koni rebuild kit) or fit 1200 strut inserts such as KYB gas-a-just or use VW inserts.
