Chris in Dallas
Hi, I'm new here. I'm having a transmission rebuilt from a 1980 Datsun 210. It's a 5 speed. The shop that is rebuilding quoted me a price for replacing the seals, bearings, and synchros. I have heard that the aftermarket synchros currently available make more noise. Is anyone familiar with this issue? should I ask them to keep the old synchros if they are in good shape? Thanks! Chris Quote Link to comment
BillM
There are "new" ones that do and ones that don't work fine. If your old ones are up to spec (.020" min gap per the book) then I would use those. BillM Quote Link to comment
