BEERDAMAGE
I am working on my wife's 72' 240z. I have 8, yup eight 240 z books. clymer, hayden, motors, the z book, ect. The problem is as a neophyte not one of the books explains "HOW" TO DISCONNECT AND REMOVE THE CENTER CONSOL PANEL which is the map light, and heater vent controls. They all say, disconnect and remove. Dirty words. Easy to say, but HOW?" I am in there upside down, sideways and backwards and I can't find out where and how to do it right. Her car had AC which I am removing. So my question (pleading and begging for help) is How, wHAT ARE THE STEPS, in order, to disconnect all of the panel controls, remove the panel so I can once again regain heater, vent ect controls. ??! Who has done this and can help with step by steps instructions. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Don't know if you need to remove the heat control knob. If you do, there is a tiny set screw on the bottom of the knob. Use a jeweler's straight screwdriver to loosen it near all the way, then pull the knob off. Quote Link to comment
BEERDAMAGE
Tnx, but the little knobs were easyand they are living in a marked plastic bag. The panel itself is hooked in by other things. I've removed all the screws but something else, more than the control cables, is holding that puppy in there. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Look in the Body or Electrical section of the Factory Service Manual -- it will show how to remove it. 1 Quote Link to comment
